Harvest at the Goat
Come experience the best day to be in the vineyard…Harvest!
Volunteer to join in the magical experience of harvest! Learn how we hand harvest our grapes while experiencing the camaraderie and community with fellow eonophiles. Your day will start in the vines and end with a wonderful al fresco brunch.
Harvest can take place any time between the end of September through the second week of October. When the grapes let us know they are ready, we will contact you. Most likely, it will NOT be a on weekend. So please note that week day availability is a must.
Here's what to expect:
Arrive at 7 am, grab a cup of coffee and listen to a short instructional session about grape harvest techniques hosted by our Vineyard Manager, Dave.
As the sun rises, we will go out in the vines and start the glory of harvest. The magic of hand harvesting is authentic & promotes grape quality; it it truly amazing.
A “Vendange” (Grape Harvest) brunch will follow harvest. Join us for delicious food, great conversation with fellow volunteers and drink some award winning wines. It is one of our favorite days of the year.
Here's what to bring/wear:
· If you have a pair of pruners you prefers to use, please feel free to bring them. We will sanitize them for you prior to use to prevent disease transmission from plant to plant.
· Sunscreen, hats, gloves, sunglasses, layer clothing, comfortable shoes, etc. are always a good idea. (You might also bring a change of clothes and shoes in case the ground and vines are wet so you will be more comfortable during lunch).
Social Distancing protocols will be in place. You are welcome to wear a mask if you'd prefer.
